We kept hearing it: “KontextMaps is one of the few tools where an AI integration would make complete sense and be totally logical!<\/em>“<\/p>

True. We saw it that way too. But our standard was clear: no map generated at the push of a button that then has to be checked point by point. KontextMaps should remain a reliable source \u2014 for knowledge that is meant to be truly understood. <\/p>

And honestly: for a long time, the results weren’t convincing enough. Too much rework was needed, there was a lack of control in the process, and the generated structures rarely helped with genuine understanding. <\/p>

So we waited. Not out of skepticism toward AI, but out of respect for what KontextMaps is meant to achieve. <\/p>

Now we’ve reached the point where it works. In two areas. <\/p>

KAIA: Building Structured Maps, with AI by Your Side<\/h3>

We’ve translated the process we’ve used to structure maps for ten years into an AI assistant. KAIA guides authors through building a map \u2014 from defining the topic to the finished structure. At every stage, the author decides whether the result is right. Not the AI. The outcome is a structure that no longer needs to be checked, because it already has been. <\/p>

We’ll share more about this in the coming weeks. For now, just this much: we’ll be showing KAIA live for the first time at VivaTech in Paris<\/strong>. <\/p>

MCP Server: When Your AI Finally Knows What Your Organization Knows.<\/h3>

The second area goes even deeper. And it relates to a question that has occupied us for a while: why does AI actually hallucinate? <\/p>

Usually not because the model is bad. Rather, because the knowledge within organizations is itself unstructured. Scattered across documents, wikis, presentations, emails. Without clear connections, without context. And where context is missing, the AI fills the gaps with whatever sounds statistically plausible. <\/p>

We’ve set up an MCP server that can connect KontextMaps to any AI system. MCP is an open standard, comparable to USB-C, but for the connection between AI and knowledge sources. The AI doesn’t just receive text fragments, but structured, curated knowledge with context. And every answer links directly into the map, to the right spot. <\/p>

The alternative would be expensive, complex retrieval systems that still don’t work reliably. Setting up a KontextMap costs a fraction of that. And it kills two birds with one stone: people get their knowledge in context. The AI gets it structured. <\/p>

The system is set up and already in use.<\/p>
